Honduras faces an array of interconnected challenges, including political and social conflicts, the enduring impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change effects, and forced displacement. A staggering 59% of the population lives in poverty, with over 32% in extreme poverty, disproportionately affecting women and children. Recurrent climate shocks, chronic violence, and alarming Gender-Based Violence (GBV) statistics contribute to a complex web of vulnerabilities. Recent floods and the La Niña phenomenon have heightened challenges, with nearly 100% more people affected than in the previous year. Rising inflation and food prices, compounded by gang-related violence, threaten the purchasing power of low-income households. Honduras urgently needs humanitarian assistance to address acute food insecurity, shelter, and water, sanitation, and hygiene issues. Join us in this critical campaign to provide aid. Together, we can make a difference and support the people of Honduras in their time of need.
